The goal of this church is to bring together in fellowship, followers of Jesus Christ for the purpose of sharing in the worship of God, and encouraging the regular and consistent presence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of its congregation members, both individually and collectively.

Worship services are held every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Youth Choir rehearsal starts at 9 a.m. with our Praise Band. Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. in the lower level of the church immediately before worship services, between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Adult Bible study is on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. in the parsonage house kiddie corner to the church.

As you come up the stairs at the front of the church, you can expect to be warmly welcomed by one of our congregation members or ushers and given a church bulletin for the day’s service. For those requiring assistance entering the church, there is a wheelchair lift entrance on the west side of the building. There is also a second entrance door on the northwest side that leads into our stairwell and down to the lower level for Sunday School and special occasion events. Services begin at 10 a.m. and typically last about an hour, with an opportunity for fellowship and conversation following. If you decide to join us for worship, simply find a seat in the sanctuary when you’re ready. There we hope you’ll experience fulfilling moments of contemplation and community — a re-connection with God, yourself, and your neighbor. As a visitor you will never be singled our or asked to introduce yourself.

God doesn’t care what you wear to church, and neither do we! Dress as casually or formally as you feel comfortable. Most folks are somewhere in the middle.

Children are an integral part of our congregation and are included in worship services through our Children’s Story, our Youth Choir, inclusion in communion distribution to ensure they understand that they are God’s children, and through special ministries like Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

We are located in the town of Chebanse, on the corner of Walnut and First South Streets, approximately 4 blocks west of Exit 302 off I-57. Parking is available on the south side of the church, across the street in front of the Chebanse Civic Center, with handicap parking located on the west side of the church building.

Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month in the form of both bread and wine/grape juice. Crackers or cookies are offered to those children too young to receive Communion, to ensure they feel they are a part of this sacred remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice to us all. Receiving Communion is always optional to both members and visitors, so there is never any obligation to participate. 

An offering plate is passed during each worship services for those who wish to contribute. Donations can also be made in person to the pastor or a council member, by mail, or online through our website via Tithely. Donations may be made in memory or in honor of someone by designating the name of the person being remembered in the attached documentation or on the check.

A person may become a member by public acceptance of its purpose:

A. On presentation of satisfactory letters of transfer from other churches.

B. Reaffirmation of faith if letters not available

C. Confession of faith, baptism, (if not previously baptized) and confirmation
